THE BOINGER BASH AT QUIGLEY HOLLOW. MAKING GREAT MEMORIES SINCE 15th JUNE, 2013.
NEXT EVENT :- July 19/20, 2025.........BOING!!
Is there somewhere you could go for a second opinion on the eye if you suspect they may be covering up something ? I'm hoping for your sake it just sorts it's self out, at least it's not long until someone takes another look at it.
I was thinking of a rifled barrel pellet firing replica type pistol, because I haven't got anything like that, but I've heard you don't get many shots due to the blowback thing using up gas. If I found a non blowback one then that would be perfect.
You need to get a lock on that gun room asap before it fills up with womens stuff
Blimey, a week tomorrow for the Friday people![]()
Yep, like you say, it isn't too long until they look at the eye again. It'd be lovely if it has sorted itself out by itself by then. If still no joy (and it looks like I'd need a slightly different prescription anyway), I could go to the opticians and ask if they can have a good look and see if they can spot anything untoward....
I think many of the rifled barrel replicas might not be blowback, so would fare better as regards gas usage? The CP88 does seem very, very popular and highly rated. But I was once given a mint condition one and it was terribly inaccurate.
There are quite a few I could fancy myself, but mainly BB ones, like the Walther P38 and the Lugers. Especially when we now have the option of the excellent copper-coated lead BBs, with greatly reduced ricochet risk. Plus I have that big box of soft rags, clothing, carpet to go at.
I'll have to ride my luck with the new "gun room". But its layout will make it tricky for more lady stuff to wind it's way in and clutter it up.
Oh yes, indeedy, we most certainly is getting ever closer to Boingy Time.![]()

I wouldn't mid a go on that pistol Neil, get a feel for what that type of pistol is like.
The Luger seems to come in two types, a blowback version & a much cheaper non blowback one. It's quite a complicated market to get your head around this replica pistol one, there are just so many guns, and I've only been look at what Pellpax sells.
.
Far too many rifles to list now, all mainly British but the odd pesky foreigner has snuck in
Yep, there certainly are lots of different ones to consider, Paul.
As you say, the non-blowback Luger will be much more efficient on the gas usage.
One of the things that can be nice on the blowbacks (well, just going by my PPK, not sure if they will all be as good) is the trigger.....as it's already cocked for you and doesn't have to index a magazine etc., the trigger is actually pretty nice.
I love the look of the 1911s but not sure how I'd fare with the backstrap safety.
I had a go with Gary-from-Lincoln's Umarex Beretta 92FS and that was lovely. Hefty and solid feeling too.
Those older Umarex Smith and Wesson revolvers (where you put the pellets in the chamber as opposed to into the dummy shells) were highly regarded and oft quoted as being probably the most accurate of the breed. I once shot one, belonging to PaulSE, at a Bash. Very nice.
Not sure if I'd like the Glock safety in the trigger set-up.
My Crosman Vigilante was pants.
My lads' Colt SAAs are lovely. They feel lovely and solid in the hand and kinda feel like I'd imagine the bullet firers to feel. He has a BB and a pellet one. Both lovely.
There really are lots to go at. Choice dictated by preferred style and budget. And one of the things that attracts with many is that you can have a very light and compact pistol chucking out pellets at quite remarkable velocities and do it whilst being so civilised. If budget here allowed, I'd be having a good few more!![]()
