    I thought Theoben bottles were Schrader valved at some stage.

    The above is correct. Theoben used schrader high pressure valves. New valves can be obtained from Best fittings.

    Phoenix by Parker hale and then Pax? Maybe 8" long x 1.5" diameter?

    Well I've never heard of that & certainly no one on the Rapid forums has mentioned it although I know the gas rams did use a Schrader valve.
    The Theoben brass "pip" doesn't open it either.

    Phil, it's a std Luxfer 280cc Aluminium bottle.

    All the first Rapid bottles were 280cc with a schrader valve, when the 400cc came out they had the ball bearing valve.
