And where did our silly 7.5 fpe rule come from?
Prior to 1974 (?) we had no limit in Sweden but certain kinds of airguns where due to a permit, such as pump-up airguns (Excellent) and Co2 weapons.

Then by the new legislation 1974 things changed, sound-moderators were prohibited and a limit of 200 mps were fixed to airguns. Good things were that pump-ups were allowed again, without permit.

Then 1992 the limit changed from 200 mps to the present 10 joules, measured 4 meters from the muzzle.

The reason for just 4 meters was becouse the forensic technicans (SKL) at that time only had a chronoscope that could measure at that distance.

Actually there is no reason to why we have just 10 joules but as I have heard some peoble at RPS wanted to get rid of the 22 airguns becouse they were asumed to be more dangerus then the more common 177 calibre.

There where never any statitics that proved them right in that case..
