Hi, how do you select the correct size drill bit to drill the pilot holes when fitting swivel studs?

Get a drill same size as root or very slightly larger:-
Current airguns:-Webley Mk 3 Supertarget: Pro-Sport: HW77: FWB 700 Match: Steyr Hunter: Anschutz 8002: TX200HC: Steyr LP10:FWB 85: CP88 Competition: 1911 Dark Ops and various other C02 Plinkers.
If you don't have a vernier just hold it up to the light & "eye it" you want a bit just a fraction thinner than the screw shank.
Put masking tape on to mark the hole, it also helps stop the drill bit sliding on the wood.
I've always used a 4mm drill bit.
