What are your top ten 'springer' break-barrel sub 12ft.lb air rifles?

    .
Following on from a chat down the pub earlier tonight, I thought I'd ask the regulars of Collectors Corner what their favourite/best top ten 'spring-powered' break-barrel sub 12ft.lb air rifles would be. The top ten we came up with is as follows (please note, rifles must be standard, and not tuned, notwithstanding factory specials ). Lets see where this takes us.

    01/ HW80K .177
    02/ HW95K .22
    03/ FWB 127 Mk.II .22
    04/ Webley Longbow .177
05/ Webley Omega (full length version) .177
    06/ Original Mod. 45 .20
    07/ FWB 124 Mk.II .177
    08/ HW35 Export .177
    09/ BSA Mercury-S Mk.II .22, and ...
    10/ Anshuts LG35 .177.

Right then, remembering this is just for fun, lets see how different people's top tens match with the above, and then differ (note they wouldn't let me include an Airgunaid SP50 Hunter .20 cal in our combined top ten -- the cads ) ...

I've not owned nearly so many riles as most of you, so I am going to limit my list to three:

    1. FWB 127 - I only bought this last year (courtesy of Hsing-ee). I was immediately struck by the lightness, balance and easy cocking. After years of FWB300S and Rekord triggers, the Sport's was somewhat disconcerting, until I looked at the target and saw that despite initial impressions, it's perfectly up to the job.

    2. HW35E - I had owned a modern K for a couple of years before I bought this, but the Export is in a different class. The balance isn't what you'd call conducive to fast handling, but with open sights it locks onto target well. I would put it up there with the Mk.I/II Airsporter as one of the best looking air rifles ever.

    3. BSA Meteor Mk.V - My first rifle was a .22, then I got my hands on a .177 18 years later. Despite the dodgy British budget build quality, it's a light, nice handling, well balanced and accurate rifle, ideal for a teenager.

Oh dear, I appear to run out of space, which is a shame as I'd love to have put the Feinwerkbau Sport and Birmingham Longbow in there. And a little BSA Cadet!

FWB Sport - If in .177, it is easily top of my list (preferablyMk1)

    HW 35 Luxus
    HW 35 E
    Mercury 'S'
HW55 CM or T - for bell target
Cadet Major - for general plinking
    Anschutz 335

    All preferred in .177

It doesn't say they have to be 'classic', as opposed to 'vintage'.

My list would be (mixing 'shootability' with collectability):

    Diana mod 58
    Britannia
    Greener
    Webley MK1
    Webley Mk2 Service
    BSA Breakdown
    Diana 65
    Walther LG55
    FWB Sport 124/127
    HW55
