    target rifle

    Hi All,
Best group 3/4 inch at 60 yards with no wind (mpr), wolf at same range slightly more.
    Yes flags at several distances.
I use a metal front rest, this makes no difference to my mpr wherever i rest it.
    Regards David j.

I shoot long range with my daystate Panther and HW1OOkt both in .177 and have shot under 5p sized groups at 55y , the longest range target board at my local range . I shoot off a caldwell rock front rest and a bald eagle sand filled rear bag . Getting the right pellet is a must at longer ranges as well as scope set up ie not canted at all , but the biggest factor shooting long range outdoors is the wind . Me and a a mate used to meet up last summer and shoot targets with 45mm kill zones at 8Om and hit them quite regular on a still day . There are a few lads off here ive chatted to that can do much better than that .22rf cases at 1OOm that kind of stuff Nice to see the long range target shooting section getting some use again as I think Its died off a bit lately ATB Mike

my most accurate rifle to date would be the ar20, I havn't measured the groups but a 10shot group inside a thumbnail @60yds in a prone position shooting 10xmag.I can't remember if I set the focus to 60yds or if it were still on my usual 25yd hft setting.

Hi, maybe i missed somewere but which pellet you use?
I got two rifles one of them Walther LG300 wich can make groups at 50m around 1,5 cm with JSB express, FT position, but a small breeze can increase it dramatically, but with JSB heavy can be less the 2,5 cm even with a small breeze.
The same with my HW77k. With crossman premium light the accuracy is very good (around 2 cm at 50m), but in a small breeze increasing up to 5-8 cm.
With JSB Heavy it is much better groups i can have.

Sorry for metric units, and for my english

Pffft I can do that with a £30 springer.

Of course, I do only fire 1 shot.

And the target was the size of a billboard.
I play a Fender bass, I shoot a springer. I like things to be, well, dependable

Smile not shot at long distance

I do have to agree with tugg the accuracey of the AR 20 is unbeatable for me, however what has to be taken into account is that i am a nebee to this gun and have been shooting a stealth for the last lot of years, the AR20 is sooooooo good in comparrison. Sory if this is in the wrong place i am new to the forum guys.

    Best Target rifle

Anschutz 9003 or Pardini GRP 1 downside they both come with a serious premium price tag they are some of the very best in air rifles that you can buy off the shelf

shooting at 60 and 80 yards

Hi we had a fun competition at our club shooting at the above distances, on a very windy day, the basic s400 .177 seemed to shoot just as well as the more expensive guns, this was off a bench rest, the better shots were getting bull eyes at 80 yards, it amazes me the distances a 12lb air rifle can shoot accurately. portisaacboy
