Decent quality larger / tighter fitting .177 pellets...

I have an HW barrel with a slighlty large (yes it is .177 !) bore...

Superdomes work well, and they are tighter fitting / larger than most.

Any more decent pellets that are a bit larger than usual you guys would recomend please ?

    TIA - JB

I find the Crossman 1ers are quite a tight fit in all my barrels.

Try some Bisley Super Field, I've often found they work well in slacker bores...

Yep, as per A.G, Crosman Premiers, Jon.

Don't know if the Accupells are exactly the same?

As the guys are saying ... Crosman Premiers are enormous ... but get the proper ones in a box ( 7.9gr ). The tinned Domes can be tiny.

H&N FTT are also tight fitting.

interestingly, the H&N FTTs I have are really small - probably about a 10 year old tin though...

    Weird aint it.

I measured several types of pellets a couple of year's back. I measured a couple of batches of H&N FTT and they were larger than all the JSB stuff that I measured.

In a HW barrel that's a bit slack I'd just go for the boxed Crosman Prems @ 7.9gr. They generally come with a range of head sizes in each box. I'd do a quick measure of say 100. You'll end up with a couple of obvious groups of sizes. Try each size. Then stick to the one that shoots best. If you are lucky and the smaller size shoots best you can then resize the larger ones down to that size with something like a T R Robb adjustable sizer.

Oh yeah, the premiers fit the bill quite nicely... Nice and accurate

Thanks to everyone who suggested them.. and not really that expensive - £19 for 1250 from our sponsors, = 1.5p a pop (JSB are what, £7.50 a tin ? So exactly the same price)

I have a box of them and found them very well made. Just a shame that they are so tight in my KT barrel and impossibly tight in the one that is " faulty ".
BTW today I found a tin of Weirauch .22 ( 5.51 ) F & T specials ( the older tin that was all a Racing Green colour ) and tried it in my TX 200 HC.
Well I think that I have to machine the delrin top hat a bit, 597ft/s @ 14.9grs ( 11.75 ft.lbs ) average. Shot 10 pellets with a variation of only 2 ft/s, yes 2 ft/s between 10 shots. I guess the barrel must have setteled a bit now and the gun seems to work well with a variety of pellets.

Initially when I read the OP I thought it read; "Decent quality Lager" ! but knowing there's no such thing.......I have to assume its about airgun pellets !
Currently I'd go with JSB Express 4.52, the 2016 batches being the most consistent at 4.51 although one or two are 4.50's !

Exactly what I found last year, Jon.

I had managed to do a little testing with one of my 95s....33 yards, indoors.

    Superdomes good.

    AA Fields a little better.

Some Exacts, two stated sizes and some of the lighter ones - the worst tested. I must have a look at those batch numbers, but they certainly didn't impress in this particular 95.

7.9 boxed Premiers (kindly donated by Joffy) absolutely awesome and certainly the best of the lot.

And then, a few months ago, some FTTs which were even better and now the "go to" pellet for this rifle.

    Humour me here...

    I did a lot of testing...by a lot I mean I went through x3 barrels before I was happy.
One was a hw spare off a hw100.
Although I eventually rejected it, it performed best with superdome and bisley magnum/bara match.
These seem to have a high crush resistance and were tighter to load.

Generally hw barrels seem sized to accept .51 pellets as this is what their own pellets are made to, but I came across a barrel with a very inconsistent bore.

    Give them a try maybe?
I have about a million magnums in pretty much every size if you are struggling.
