Not sure which is nicer, the fiddleback maple on the case or the fiddleback on the walnut stock.

In British slang an anorak is a person who has a very strong interest in niche subjects.

I found a Welsh guy who makes hand built guitars a while ago whilst looking for a refret, but he also does cases, I suppose to order so anything could fit in!

    Stunning case! Very nice indeed.
A fetish? Probably not an appreciation of excellent workmanship, definitely.

Box looks a nice job - just needs a custom fit interior to slot the rifle & optic into now or even some pick 'n' pluck foam if you're not bothered about a more traditional finsh.
You'll know the fetish has gone too far when the next box you're planning is 6' long...

I have done both type of cases, English and French. This is my first one that has a flexible foam under the satin. I cut the form of the gun into the foam so it would lie flatter and be just slightly compressed as I shut the lid. I actually think this gives the best protection to the gun and especially the optic mount. Plus given the size of the case I could use it to transport three pistols, as the foam is very forgiving.

Yes it's a Crosman 102, probably made in the very early 1930s.
