Stroke lengths, TP sizes and SCR for various springers...

OK guys, with all this talk of SCR etc... How about we put a list together of the standard stroke lengths, bore sizes and TP sizes?

I've got ones for a HW 77/97 and a 95 (HW80 + HW35 added) so far.... Would be interested to know them for the 99, 80, 55, TX/Prosport old and new, LGV etc....

I'll need: Model - Bore size (B) - Stroke Length (S) - Transfer Port Diameter x Length (TP) - Piston weight in grams without the liner but with the seal.

    Standard rifles
Model Bore D (mm) Stroke (mm) Swept Vol.(cc) TP D x L (mm) TP Vol. (cc) SCR Piston(g) Caliber Notes
    HW77/97 early 25 81 39.76 3x6 0.042 938:1 235 - up to serial number: 1446048 - Some rifles have 2.9, 3 or 3.1mm TP
    HW77/97 Late 26 81 43.01 3x6 0.042 1014:1 265 - From serial number 1446049 - Some rifles have 2.9, 3 or 3.1mm TP
    HW95 26 85 45.13 3x15 0.106 426:1 254 - -
    HW80 30 80 56.55 2.9x11 0.073 779:1 - - -
    HW35 Early 30 65 45.95 4x26 0.327 141:1 - - Leather seal (up

    HW35 Late 30 65 43.83 2.8x26 0.160 274:1 - - Synthetic seal (843637 on)
TX200 (MK1+2) 25 84 41.23 3.65x9.8 0.103 403:1 a bit more than 225? - Additional Top Hat weight.... not sure of weights. Piston will weigh more due to longer piston rod.
    TX200 (MK3) 25 98 48.11 3.65x9.8 0.103 470:1 225 - .177 add 27g top hat, .22 add 16g for top hat

    BRILLIANT IDEA BRUCE!

And, you're right, why not extend this to as many different rifles as possible, as a quick reference guide.

Maybe even an excellent idea for a sticky, chaps?

    Strange!

I would also love to have a list of this info, to suss a few things out that I've been wanting to experiment with, and generally get my head around.

Perhaps you could also include things like piston weight, std spring dia., gauge and coils?

If people add the info we need to this thread I'll happily amend the first post so people can find what they need with out trailing through the thread.

    Hi Bruce

    Some more numbers for you

    Wehrauch HW 35 leather seal --------------- transfer port = 4mm ID X 26mm ---- Cylinder = 30mm ID X 65mm stroke

    Weihrauch HW35 synthetic seal ------------- transfer port = 2.8mm ID X 26mm -- Cylinder = 30mm ID X 65mm stroke

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
These are not carved in stone

    Weihrauch HW35 synthetic conversion kit ---- transfer port = 4mm ID X 26mm ---- Cylinder = 30mm X 62mm stroke

    Weihrauch HW35LGV ------------------------ transfer port = 4mm ID X 6mm ----- Cylinder = 25mm X 71mm stroke

    All the best Mick

Many thanks Mick! Great to have your modded 35 in there too

Finally worked out how to add tables in HTML so will do the sums for SCR ASAP.

Have amended the threads title so we can include AA, LGV etc.... If we can get this going it'll be a cracking point of reference.

If anyone thinks of another column, let me know now as its a PITA to add later

    Nice idea,
as well as standard figures listed for each model, do people on here have "optimized" figures for say 11.3ftlb running sweetly that could be added along side or is there no such thing as optimum!!!!!

Thanks bud. Not sure if there's an optimum for a set power..... Hopefullyone of the guys who understand this more will post

just about to add SCR values.

Ok, added SCR's for the rifles listed so far......

Can someone check my figures? I'm getting confused! (Have made a spread sheet up so its all automated....)

Looking at the SCR for say the early 77 and the 80, the 80 should shoot nicer than the 77 Or at least it's closer to the preferred 300:1-500:1

I'm guessing Piston weight must be playing a major factor here!

Hi Bruce, its probably worth adding a swept volume column to save calculator punching

The SCR is difficult as the target value depends on port length as the gas flow through the port is restricted more by a longer port, it's an indicator of when it will slam or bounce.

    Cheers

95/98/new 85 are 85mm stoke, not 86, all depends what seal is fitted obviously

If I get a chance i will boot the old machine up and get my notes off it, however only the stock stuff, not what i set.
