    JSB .25 heavy mk 2

    Anyone using these new pellets?
I have just ordered a tin to see how they shoot in the Edgun before I start twiddling with the power on it. I feel it should be shooting better. I also think it's time to clean the barrel.
    Question.
Do you know the BC of these?
    Cheers

33.95 grains, BC is around 0.05 depending on the velocity. Good pellets, MOA capable at 100M with no wind. You want to push them 800+ fps with around 900 fps being ideal for long range shooting.
    Viking Mk2 .177/.22 bullpup, BSA Scorpion SE .177, BSA Scorpion .25 100M gun, BSA Scorpion .224 100fpe 100M gun,
    Evanix Blizzard .257/.357 200M BR, Evanix Sniper X2 .45 at 270 fpe

Well the MK11 heavys have arrived. Tomorrow is test day. Barrel is cleaned I think 50 to lead it in and then its game face on and see how they shoot. Not much on the BC.

I use them in a .25 Wildcat, which doesn't have a Power Twiddler. They fit the mag and cycle better than the MK1 Heavy Kings. They seem to group very similarly. 790fps (880 for the 25gr Kings).

They are of no use unless your gun can make 50+ ft.lbs of energy. With a sub 12 ft.lbs they won't even get close to 390 ft/s .

how can you come to such conclusion Lensman. are you one of the childish .177 users?

the fastest crossbows barely hit the 400mark, and shooters can cope with the trajectory/drop.

sure if you havent got your holdover points in grip, the .177 with 800 is the thing for you.

No worries mate. Go and shoot stuff at 390 ft/s . You might as well throw the pellet at them.

Speaking as someone who uses the 25gn Exact king at 42fpe I tend to agree with lensman, I wouldn't bother with them in mine.

At sub 12fpe they will barely clear the muzzle I did a lot of testing when I first bought my .25cal Hatsan striker, once you go over around 25gn with a sub 12 there just isn't enough energy to accelerate the pellet within the barrel so they actually knock the ME right back as they exit so slow I'd expect under 340fps, maybe about 8.5-9fpe at the muzzle.

The verdict on a very quick test was to stick with the JSB kings. On a cleaned barrel I sent 27 Kings through it to lead it up a little before the new MK11s and to my surprise they grouped very well.
Tried the MK11s. I put 36 through it. Grouping wasn't great and the didn't cycle well in the mag. So will stick to the kings until I find single shot loader. I seem to get two flyers on each mag cycle that ruin the group.
Power wise mine is shooting at 49fpe.
