    FWB 602 barrel removal

Anyone know how to remove the barrel from a FWB602?

I just bought a very nice example, recently serviced but the barrel has some rust marks (not pitted) and I fancied reblueing it as the rest of the rifle is perfect.

    Cheers,
    Matt

    Hi Matt

I think you'll be trying to remove the shroud, the barrel is a little farty thing you can't see.

The nearest strip I can find is a 601 :-

If that's no good I think I have an owners manual for a 602.

    All the best Mick

    Hi Mick, thanks.
As someone else pointed out it is the shroud I want to remove and the barrel is only 2/3rds the length.

It isn’t really necessary for a normal service strip (as in YouTube vid) so finding out how to do it might prove difficult.

I suppose I’ll have to get it apart and see if I can suss it out.

    Cheers,
    Matt

    ptdunk,

It is difficult to see whether the barrel slides in or is clamped in :

I did not remove the barrel when I gave my '602 a service

Have fun & a good weekend

    Best regards

I contacted Feinwerkbau who said the barrel is bonded into the sleeve, and they are pressed into the barrel support block so can't be separated.
I think the compression cylinder is also pressed into the Barrel support block so I'll maybe try to mask the cylinder and cold blue the barrel sleeve.
Not in any great hurry to do it though tbh.

Shot it at the range the other day and wow.....what a piece of engineering.
I collect a few classic 10m rifles and it's interesting to see where they ended up.

    Matt
