I have done both type of cases, English and French. This is my first one that has a flexible foam under the satin. I cut the form of the gun into the foam so it would lie flatter and be just slightly compressed as I shut the lid. I actually think this gives the best protection to the gun and especially the optic mount. Plus given the size of the case I could use it to transport three pistols, as the foam is very forgiving.Originally Posted by harvey_s
Box looks a nice job - just needs a custom fit interior to slot the rifle & optic into now or even some pick 'n' pluck foam if you're not bothered about a more traditional finsh.
