Just shot massive spider with my .22 Scorpion and a cleaning pellet.
Funny how wife and daughters suddenly approve of air pistols.

Your first thought is for the gun Nick- I like that.
I have had the Scorpion - pistol, since I bought it new in 1973 for £17 6shillings.
I hate to think how I abused it in my younger days!
I imagine it will shrug off this emergency action!
They have robust internals and will definitely shrug off some abuse, I use an SSP with a corner torn off some kitchen roll to despatch unwanted 6 & 8 legged wildlife in the house - my wife actually encourages me
You can make papier-mache pellets using umarex 8 shot mags as moulds to compress them into, push them back slightly from the front & you're good to go - House Fly Action Shooting anyone?

Off to make papier-mache pellets for the Colt.
I will need 8 spiders though.
On your previous spelling post. How would they spell papier-mache in general airgun?
Regards.

for the scatter gun effect try a few grains of uncooked (short grain) rice or cous-cous with paper tissue balls as wadding.
Never tried it in a pistol but it is devastating against wasps from a Webley Raider
I feel a little experimentation coming on with the 1377

I wouldn't consider spider elimination as hunting, it's more like a social service

Been there, bought it, tried it, sold it
It is not hunting. Spiders creep up on you not vice versa.
Quite, it is definitely self defence.
For instance, if you don't deal with said spider instantly it gets quite uncomfortable with the mrs, a 27 year old daughter and a 25 year old daughter all sitting on your lap

Personally, I like spiders, not too fond of large ones inside the house, but rather than shoot one I would pick it up and throw it outside.
Did that for 15 years,
I figure the one's around here that don't know by now are taking the piss.
I have to do something, and fast, but not too obvious, before the missus screeches SPIDER at 120dB - if a spider doesn't end up giving her a heart attack she'll give me one!
