Yes probably, Harris do a rubber spacer to fit between the bipod & stock tapers from 5-6mm to about 2mm, very handy on narrow stocks.

Not at all I have a cheap Atlas clone bipod that I can't get tight as it should be,
the question was accuracy and loose bipod, I was thinking out of the box.
From the OP's question, I presume the bipod is supposed to be rigid when deployed, with no movement at all? Is that correct?
