I have the TBT .25 sizer
I have the TBT .25 sizer
I got my .25 sizer from U.K.Neil for my Lightning,it improved the loading and increased ftp by 1.5 ,using H&N FTT.
Unfortunately Neil as retired from making Swarf.
Les..
I managed to pick up an old tin of Magnum pellets which if anything are a tad small but at least im able to use the rifle. Got around to
measuring various pellets and had an idea to drill a 6.20 mm hole in bit of 4mm still plate. Poke pellets in to re-size the head and poke
back out from the other side to keep the skirt size standard. If it works I can make up something a bit more elaborate. Have ordered
the drill bit and already have some 4mm plate somewhere in the garage so here goes. Tim
Well I've just reamed out my TBT .243" sizer to 6.2mm, couple of pic's to compare how it deforms the pellets,
Problem now is do I need to ream it to 6.25 or not ? obviously need's a test shoot before I decide.

A/ - 5 shots Rhino green straight from the tin.
B/ - 10 shots Pylarm 21.6gn resized head & skirt 6.2mm
C/ - 10 shots Pylarm 21.6gn resized head only 6.2mm
D/ - 10 shots Pylarm 21.6gn not sized.
E/ - 10 shots Pylarm 18.6gn straight from the tin.
F/ - 10 shots Marksman 19gn straight from the tin, the pulled shot was my fault.
well looks like I might have to try the Rhino, Marksman & Pylarm 18gn through the sizer as well
But now I don't want to risk taking it out to 6.25mm without a spare.

Bit of an update. Drill bit arrived and I drilled a 6.20 hole in a bit of 4.5mm flat
stock steel. Bit of a leed in with a 10mm bit and good to go. Actually works ok
but is going to be labour intensive. Pellet on a hard surface and a tiny bit of lube.
Press steel plate onto pellet all the way down, turn it over and press down again,
remove pellet. Is re-sizing the head to 6.20mm but not the skirt. Just need to
get a batch done for shooting trials. :-)
If you look at my target post#25 sized head only was very poor compared to head & skirt sizing with the new Pylarm
I've just had a further play this morning using the 6.2 to resize the 3 brands which already fit (rhino green, old pylarm, marksman)
Shot a group from the tin then a group resized, interesting results.
All resized groups lost power/velocity,
Rhino -11fps, 10.13-9.68ftlb
Pylam -13fps, 10.16-9.64ftlb
Marksman -8fps, 9.67-9.47ftlb
Marksman group fractionally better, Pylarm no change, Rhino group worse & 3 shots hit side on ,
so I won't bother to resize any of these again.
