I think Haenel made MP40 sub machine gun during WW2. I like to think my Haenel Mk1Ve is related.
This is a very rare Haenel made just after the war using prewar parts. Only a few are known. Some former East Germans are mad keen Haenel collectors, so it may well sell!

It looks looks just like it.
I’d be prepared to take half that for my Falke.

Its actually not the asking price. From the description I understand the seller invites people to sent him offers by PM, because he has no idea what the rifle is actually worth. The modell 53 in that condition should probably fetch around €125, but if there is more than one crazy collector, who excessively value 2 extra stamped stripes who knows , but never 10.000
Collection: vintage air pistols & air rifles / vintage air gun accessories
Facebook groups: vintage air guns 1. Webley, 2 BSA, 3. Haenel, 4. Weihrauch, 5. Diana
Looks like the Lucznik 87 may have been inspired by this gun?
Too many airguns!
This is absolutely not an ordinary 53 though. The seller also says:
"Not much needs to be said about this... all Haenel collectors would love to have a III-53, but the number of examples in circulation can be counted on one hand.
I've been looking for it myself for almost 10 years. Other collectors have been searching for decades without success and have never even seen decent photos of the III-53.
So here is a UNIQUE chance to get such a piece for your collection. If you don't strike now, you may soon regret it."
Yes, you'd have to be crazy keen to pay thousands for it, but I wouldn't be surprised if the seller is hoping for eye-watering offers!

As they say just because something is rare does not make it valuable. I think that applies here!
Nice and maybe rare but, if I were offered it for £300, I would give it a miss.
