Edit. With your 158 gns bullet with 2.5 gn ba9
Shows 664 fps but 21343 psi … that’s way over

If you had vectan A1 and used a max of 3.3 gns it shows 815 fps at 14230 psi
Edit that’s with the 105 gn bullet but I would work up to this load

Interesting. What happens if I change the powder to Vectan A1? I think it’s a no brainer to stick with the lighter bullet.

Old faithful 3.9 gns of unique gives you 845 fps at 14036 psi …. Bear in mind water case capacity counts in these cases etc … least you know you can work up to these levels

According to quickload vit n32c tin star with your 105 gn bullet 3.7 gns will give you 826 fps at 13891 psi but it fills the case to 98% and 99.8% of all your powder be burnt …. No sooty cases

I’ve just fired another 5 3.5grm Ba9 loads, I seated the bullet a bit deeper and the figure went up a little and consistency improved.

    I will try 2.5 and 3grn of A1 after F1 qualifying.

I am still testing with the .357 for a safe round, once I have that I will start testing on the subject gun

    2.5grn A1 was a gentle "poof" and about 300fps. 3grn is around 580 fps.

I have done this, the bullet weight is actually 110grn (I weighed some) and 3.2grn only gets 580 fps. Why am I consistently so far below the expected fps?

I have just measured the case volume (cut down .357), it holds 13grn of water

With new data case capacity with the 2.5 inch barrel 3.3 gns should give 760 fps with 105 bullet… will be less with 110 etc
3.3 gns with added data with 3 inch barrel shows 811 fps with the 105 bullet
Not sure why you are getting a lot less unless you need more crimp ?

What effect does it have on the pressure? I have increased the crimp and will test again in the morning
