I'm so sorry I didn't get to say goodbye to Neil and Tina, I had a look as I set off but didn't see them.
I did plan to pack up early and stay until 6 or 7 o'clock tonight but as the day went on I was struggling with my back and had to go mid afternoon.
Once again, a massive thank you to Neil and Tina for the massive amount of work and organisation that goes into making this event what it is.
I've also learnt a new word from Gav for "hangover" this weekend which will stay with me forever.
    Enjoy your curry tonight everyone.

One of the most enjoyable bashes I’ve attended.
A truly great day out spent laughing with friends, some of whom I’ve not seen in four years - and making new acquaintances (great to meet you, Paul - I’ll be in touch soon).
The bucket certainly took some punishment today, great shooting by all - well done.
As always, it passes too soon and now we have the longest wait until next spring.
    But just remember:
    Chalk targets are tremendous.
    Camp site tea is tremendous.
A twisted sense of humour is tremendous.
Guns of all kinds, bog standard, modded, re-engineered, or just plain interesting are all tremendous.
And turning up just in time to hear breaking news on the radio that we get to keep our, ‘devil dog’, just put the icing on the cake. Im made up.
Didn’t touch my brakes all the way home, cleaned the guns off and just watching King Kong with my lad and glass of red.
    A memorable day indeed.
Thanks as always to Neil and Tina for your sterling efforts. Hugely appreciated.

If you make a New Year’s resolution in 2024 and haven’t visited the bash yet - let that be on your list. I guarantee you’ll love it and you’ll make some great mates.

Very best to all my bash mates, Craig

I was going to post something along these lines in a separate thread but you've summed it up perfectly, Craig.

This was my first Bash today after a few years of 'threatening' to come along. Sadly only for the day but I'll be back next year and plan better for the full weekend. It was bloody brilliant.

I'll be honest, I was a bit apprehensive as I don't do 'crowds' well (even small ones) so wondered if, after ten years of the Bash, there might be a bit of a clique. I needn't have worried- it's one of the friendliest, most welcoming events I've been to, anywhere.

It was so good to put some faces to bbs names after all these years. Great to try some different rifles and lovely to hear some positive comments about mine. I think I might be a new addict to bell target, too. A low powered, high quality rifle with diopter sights is now on 'ze list'...

Thanks to TonyL for the last minute advice, thanks to all I met for the friendly welcome (and whose rifles I tried) and to Neil for putting it on.

As I said earlier, just bloody brilliant.

Perfectly summing up of the day and very essence of The Bash there, Craigy.

And, yes, I was listening to the very same breaking news on the drive in yesterday morning, with common sense now taking over from the initial over reactionary comments.

That open sighted 77 of yours with the Hex barrel shroud is absolutely lovely. Perfect in every way. I want it!

Pete said for me to mention something about him being "King of The Bucket"?

And his chalk men are awesome!

Lovely to finally get to meet you, sir.

You have some very, very nice toys there.

So glad you enjoyed yourr maiden visit. Everyone does. But it's so nice to hear. Any newcomer might have those very same concerns about attending for the first time. But, as you have also now witnessed, turn up, be welcomed and fit straight in. There are no primadonnas or cliques at a Bash. Just nice, genuine, honest, friendly folk sharing their love for our air powered toys.

Look forward to seeing you next year.

Cobblers - Baldinio was, 'the silent bucket assassin'. It kept toppling over and whenever we looked to see who'd done it, Chris would just be sitting there with a big grin on his dial
I want to be there today and have considered driving up for a couple of hours but I really have to make sawdust instead, sadly.
Have a great day all and I'll see you again soon.

Sorry I never got to say hello, mate - but great to hear you've had a good time. We can always catch up at the next one.
I always come away from the bash feeling the need for something to be added to the cabinet, that's one of the attractions for me.
    Best, Craig
