    Simplest things sometimes the best

So been plinking away at some conkers today few trees outside the house so grabbed a pocket full while walking the dog.

Probably as much fun as you can have shooting. Back to basics with the 99 and 5x lpvo scope.

I've had guns and scopes Probably costing 5/6 times combined value high end pcps etc at indoor ranges.

But something about basic springer scope and standing unsupported 18M plinking stuff. Explode nicely when frozen too.

Anyone else enjoy the simpler things over super tight groups really concentration etc and taking it super serious. (I know there's time and place for competition)

I would rather shoot a tin can than a group any day! Halloween is nearly with us, so it’s pumpkin season

Almost empty aerosol cans, they jump and fly like a little rocket.

Yep, recently started shooting at my local club, all sorts of targets at different ranges to shoot at, much more fun.
Far too many rifles to list now, all mainly British but the odd pesky foreigner has snuck in

Definately prefer to fun plink than serious cloverleaf. Once the scope is zero'd & a good pellet found simply enjoy trigger time.

A selection of cans, a tin of pellets and a nice accurate open sight rifle is my idea of fun

    Yep.

There's a different buzz involved when shooting groups. I like to shoot groups to test myself, test the outfit, for pellet selection and to keep myself in check. Promotes good habits and, hopefully, ensures bad habits don't creep in with technique regarding trigger release and follow through. A session on paper in very quiet surroundings can be very therapeutic, too. Especially when you're trying to maintain those very tightest of groups, the last shot of ten and you really don't want to spoil it. You block everything else out of your life whilst trying to place those little pellets ever so precisely.

But then, oh yes indeed, shooting reactive targets is so much fun. Especially with a basic ser-up. And, like above, that can mean opens too.

Tinners mentioned pumpkins......I'll never forget the weird, complaining "watery ploppy!! sounds the pumpkin was making at Mick's Quigley Hollow in October '19. Immense fun!

And, more recently, Pete's chalk men at the last Boinger Bash. Especially when they just explode into dust with a square hit!
