Yep, ties in pretty much with my findings, Pete.

The other thing I'd like to do on my next glasses is to have glass lenses, Pete. I appreciate that they might be heavier than plastic lenses and many are reluctant to supply these days, but with my high prescription I'd end up with thinner lenses if using high index glass. I believe the light transmission will be better, too. Advances in technologies with plastic lenses means they have come a long way in the last few years. The coatings on my current lenses give anti-dazzle for night driving and they don't smear as much as the ones I had before when cleaning them. I feel that glass ones should also clean even easier, with more smear-free results. After my car smash in 2013 I was told you could no longer get glass lenses due to safety considerations. But I think you can. And I'll certainly be asking the question. You don't see many top-end scopes with plastic lenses, do you?

I was off yesterday, too. Used a holiday day up for Glaucoma follow up. Now they're telling me I need to have the cataract removed from my left eye. Assessment appointment in two to three weeks and we go from there. Deep joy.
Not the preferred reason for a days leave . I was going to ask a question or two but you’ve answered them and more in your posts above

    Cheers, Pauly.

Blimey......they're not hanging about......when I got home last night the letter for the assessment appointment had already landed! Appointment for Tuesday 14th. So I'm going to have to see if I can get an appointment with that optician next week. Tuesday's taken care of by car repair bookings, though. And people on holiday and days off will make it awkward to squeeze a bit of time off from work, but they can sod off. Need to get this looked at and my eyes are more important than whether they're undermanned for a few hours!

Ayup Tony, hope you're feeling better?

I've nowt new coming but have some tinkering planned, although not by me I think... I have a nice little Stingray Carbine (Brum) that I'd like to go a bit daft with. Going to see if one of the pro-tuners will do a glide job on it and fettle the trigger as much as is possible. I have a blued slimtech style mod I could put on it so there might be a full reblue for it too, with a blanking plate for the rear sight holes.

I toyed with trying to make it fully standard but finding a rear sight has come up blank (I have the threaded muzzle weight, foresight & tiny muzzle break) so customising is the next option.

It's currently quite lively at over 11ft/lb, so I'm thinking 10ish with properly fettled & set up internals would make for a cracking wee rifle. It's a job for the new year though.

Still trying to find time to have a day at that indoor range in Donny

My latest pair of varifocals are Hoya glass and are really good and not heavy. I was offered Zeiss glass but they were pricey.
Next time I may go for Zeiss.
    I’ll give a reticle a a miss though !
