Living in North Somerset, I've got plenty of sources for farmhouse cider straight from the barrel - Crossman's and Rich's cider are more or less on the doorstep, and even Thatchers (5 miles down the road) do a straight from the barrel farmhouse type at their ciderworks shop (because of it's colour being like the reddish fuel used in farm machinery, it's known locally as "diesel"!)
They're all very good if you stick to the medium rather than the dry grades (your guts will thank you for it).
I'll always regret never getting the chance to sample any of Jamie's (Moletrapper) home produced brew.

Talking of tipples, I was in Aldi earlier.......
They're now doing the box of 18 x 440ml cans of Carlsberg for just £9.99! Admittedly, not the best, or most "premium" of beers, but you do get used to it and it's mega affordable as an "every day" beer.
I also noticed that if you get the Rheinbacher Pilsner as a can four-pack, it's lots cheaper than bottles....about £3.50 for four 500ml cans. Brewed to the strict German purity law, it's a lovely beer and a bargain at the price.![]()

I don't usually watch football, but I don't mind watching a few games if it's the World Cup or Euros. So I had the Euros on last night and was also trying to get caught up on reading my Airgun Worlds. I've now just started on the current (July) issue. There was a deeply worrying article in the June issue by Jamie Chandler about some banks deciding to close bank accounts if the business is involved in shooting sports, due to ill-informed prejudices..Well worth a read if you can access.
I also finally got round to replacing the awful, standard "elastic" on the Milbro catapult. I replaced it with a Jack Pyke tubed set. Much better. I'll see if the tubes bed in a bit more, but might well end up fitting some flat bands at some point as I much prefer the feel of the "flats" that are on my Wasp and the lovely little catty that Pete gave me. The tubes are quite "stiff" at present, only stretch to about double or so their relaxed length and the pouch is quite rigid and slippery feeling at the moment. This should also wear in a little and is exaggerated by using smaller ball bearings, leading to early and inconsistent release. Might be better with larger ammo.
I'll try and have a play with that old 1377 today to see how the seals are behaving. And I must get some proper trigger time in soon.

Sounds lovely, Mark.
I've got loads of whiskies to get through. Prior to Christmas I had my Gentleman Jack on the go. Still have. But two more at Christmas (an Irish one and Glenfiddich 12 Yesr Old), plus another on Valentine's Day (12 year old single malt) means I have four on the go at the moment! And a bottle usually lasts me about two and a half to three years!
I think I have at least two more bottles of Jack Daniels in the garage and was given a Jim Beam and a Jura the other week when I left the old job. Plus another last Sunday for Father's Day. Looks like I'll have to increase the rate of consumption.......

We can help you out with surplus whisky Tony.
Repariere nicht, was nicht kaputtist.
John,
Stopped off first north of Dumfries, popped over to Arran for a few days, then over to Islay for 6 days, taking in Jura and stopped off at Luss (1/2 way up Loch Lomond) before returning back home. We managed to find ourselves in the middle of the Islay whisky festival (accident, honest..), so a few bottles of whisky made the journey south.
