There is a large brick empty chamber the size of a very large & deep double wardrobe in our dining room, it used to house some sort of oil fired space heater & the wife hates it.

So yesterday I started to take the front out with a view to cutting the sides down & turning whats left it to a cupboard & shelves feature thingy. I got several rows of bricks out when I noticed that two joists sat on this brickwork, well only just sat on it, by 3/4 of an inch

Two bits of 4 x2 were promptly stuffed under said joists, but I need to have this sorted asap

Some heavy duty metal work is on the cards, fortunately you can order suitable steel online now, looks like the 230mm angle grinder & welding kit are coming out after a long hiatus. Hopefully I can get this done this weekend.

On another note I managed to go to Pickering & not go and buy the really nice second hand .22 HW 35 they have, I'm quite shocked at my self control
Bloody hell, Paul. You've got enough on your hands there!

I hope all goes well and you can get it done, freeing you up for The Bash.

Not impressed one bit with failure to purchase - now stop torturing yourself and go and get that 35 bought!

Sad to hear you can't make it, Mike, but fully understandable.

I hope you mum's operation all goes to plan and that recovery is nice and swift.

You take care, mate, and see you at the next one.

    Terry and the Ronster
I think Mike was trying to sort
What was the story with Chris? Away or trying to sort?
    Mark was a maybe
I think Adam from Lincoln will show on the Sunday
Pretty sure Chippendale will be coming
A chap called Paul from work might come on the Friday
Paul, Hellequin's been quiet of late, but I'd be hopeful.

And there's bound to be more.
Had a bit going on Tony but I still check in to keep an eye out for interesting stuff. Gutted I didn't make the last bash at all, as I'd booked for the weekend. I'm hoping to get to the autumn one but looking like only a day (prob Sunday) for this one.

If I can get down I promise I'll bring the 50s Anniversary & that lovely Diana 34 I bought from Melv. I REALLY like that rifle!

That's pretty rotten timing, I hope she appreciates what an outstanding son you are to miss a bash for her

Hope it all goes well for your mum Mike & hope to see you next year.*

I'll get it done if the metal & bolts arrive

I had to go to Pickering again today, and this time I was doing really well for time, plus there was a free parking space I cracked & parked up. I walked round the corner only to find they are shut Wednesday afternoons Mind you I couldn't work out how to sneak it into the house seeing as I'd have had to pop home with it during work hours, I certainly couldn't rock up at work with it !

Not sure if I'm going to get done for speeding today, had the speed limiter on all day bar one small stretch of 40 mph dual carriageway, and bugger me there was a camera van on it both lanes were busy & I'm not sure they can pick individual vehicles out when there is a bunch very close together.* praying emoji here *

I've just had a look at Accu-Weather for the forecast during The Bash and it's dry on Thursday, Sunny on Friday and a little rain on Saturday with the temperatures between 20 and 22 degrees.
    I'll take that.

The wind never gets above 9mph all weekend as well, ( on BBC weather ) which also very good news

9 mph is a gale for me, I mainly shoot indoors so I'm useless at judging any wind on the range.
