I too would be interested but like others have said it would be dependant on dates.

The one other factor besides the price is of course the date, Donny has got a racecourse so it'd probably be better to pick a weekend that hasn't got racing on. (Hotels might be cheaper etc)

Premier inn is £35 for a room on the 18th of Jan for instance, walking distance to pubs & eateries

I've just looked and t' oss racing seems to be all year round, not knowing anything about horse racing I'd presumed it wasn't a winter thing, but apparently it is !

    Race days;-

    Dec the 13th (fri) & 14th (sat)

Jan the 10th (fri), the 24th (fri) & the 25th (sat)

    Feb the 6th ( thurs)

    March 1st (sat) & 2nd (sun).

If as many people are interested as it looks like then this has legs

    So, if we exclude these dates & say early next year in a bid to narrow it down then we have;

    Jan 18th

    Feb 15th & 22nd

I'm dis-counting the first sat in Jan because it's less than a week after the Christmas holidays, and the less choice we have the simpler it will be, hopefully.

We just need some idea of the prices & if we really need it all or just half of it, as the lanes are split into two lots I've just realised from having another look at the site, as no one is going to be shooting all day non stop.

They do three sessions a day normally at £15 a lane, so obviously £45 quid a day for 18 lanes is a lot (£810) even if Brian does a discount for block booking (I'm hoping he does) it's a lot seeing as at the most we have about 18 guys interested atm for a days air rifle shooting.

Although they lock the gates at night, would it be possible to park the motorhome overnight.

Probably worth consulting Brian at this point.

I'll have a chat with Brian and will find out what format best suits.

As always with things like this, the final date chosen will not suit everyone and, unfortunately, there'll always be someone who would have liked to attend, but can't.

One thing that I think is a MUST is for the date to be suitable for Neil and Tina, our fantastic, selfless Boinger Bash hosts. So, for once, rather than chasing about, organising, grafting etc., they can just turn up and enjoy. Just recognition for his hard work and efforts.

Do we try and book the whole place for a day?

Do we end up just picking a day in conjunction with Brian and let people individually book two slots - morning and afternoon? But then some might miss out?

I think maybe, initially, let's gauge interest and get an idea of how many people would be interested, and take it from there.

Timings. What are most people's thought? December or early in the new year?

Provisional list of interested peeps (state on here and I'll update on this post) :-

    Neil
    Tina
    Paul (Waddy)
    Paul (Hellequin)
    Terry
    Ronster
    Craig-P
    Dave, Trumpetier

Going by the list of interested people It looks like maybe half the range might be enough ? If we say all day on Jan 18 th & see what Brian can do it for, ie prices for full & half range & can Niel park his motorhome there overnight ?

    Oky dokes, I'll find out.

I'd need to book the day as a holiday myself. But I was having a word with some of my colleagues the other day and it sounds like January is a quiet month for us ( as you might guess), so should be okay.

As you say, Paul, nobody's going to be shooting all day non-stop, so half of the lanes should do us fine.

Oh yes. Sorry, Pauly. I'd forgotten all about your intense marathon sessions my friend.

Ah well, if you're hogging one lane to yourself all day, 16 or 17 of the rest of us sharing the others should be okay.
