So, if we were to book half the lanes, shall we go for the 45 yarders?

Best to consider target types and their distances as its not likely to resemble the Bash layouts. I'd be OK with 45 but others may not.
Been a while since I visited Brian's range and I can't recall in detail the targets, I think they were card on racks ?

As for half or full lanes booking, that'll depend on how many attendees they'll be I guess, a tricky one at this point in time ?
At a Bash, the nos., shooting as opposed to non shooting varies during the day. Sometimes 80-90% are shooting, other times maybe only 20-30% !

Assuming a 50/50% shooting/non shooting ratio and the 17 attendees shown on the latest total, nine lanes would be enough i think.

Apologies to anyone reading this post as I keep amending it !

Neil did mention last week that he was hoping he might be able to announce some proposed dates for next year soon. The only thing is, it isn't Neil's own land and he has other people / crop timings / livestock considerations to be factored in.

    All in good time, sir.......

Yep, as requested, this post was posted onto the Doncaster Meet thread and I replied there. I think half of the lanes might be about right, Jon. As Waddy had also said.

The only thing is that cost. I saw a chap in our shop on Thursday who had just been there. He said it was busy and all lanes were full. Now, consider that even more people might be making use of this excellent indoor facility during Winter, and that we're asking for a weekend day when, I guess, it'll be busier still, and Brian would have no problem filling the slots at the "full" (but very reasonable) price. So we might not get much of a "deal" on this. Just saying.....

She's doing pretty well thanks Tone. She's recovering well at home now. Apart from a fair amount of pain which is to be expected her mobility is good!!!

Yes, I'm getting a similar Vibe, Its up to Brian in the end.

Must say though, looking at the website pics, the place has really improved since we first visited, a really well set out shooting facility now on similar lines of the now defunct Idleback range !

    All sorted, John.

I've also posted on the Doncaster meet thread. We can have nine lanes. Leanne suggested the 38 yards lanes, as there will be more room for people to chat and mingle when not shooting. Not sure on the exact booking procedure yet, but Leanne and Brian will work with us to ensure a most excellent day will be had.

The only thing left to decide is the sessions' timings. On a Saturday we can pick from 09.00am, 12.00 noon and 3.00pm. The 12.00 noon's a given. Do we go early or late?

Yes, just read it Tony, it’s moving along nicely, best we all discuss all matters on the “Donny” thread from now on so no confusion arises.

Okay dokies; looks like we'll be going for all three sessions of the day on the 38 yarders.

    Thumbs up Sleepometer update

Just to keep you all in the loop.

I've now been in contact with some precision engineers who should be able to supply some very finely produced new components. As you'll be aware, I try and shy away from anything digital, so these will be purely mechanical.

The tolerances have to be absolutely perfect so that The Sleepometer will be able to accurately cope with two lots of countdowns soon - one for the first Bash of 2025 and one for the Doncaster meet once we have the dates nailed down.

Will let you know once parts arrive and how testing goes.

Was it Nick 18Wheeler that used to put up a fancy digital countdown timer on The Bash thread Tone ?
