I believe it’s a skill for all springer owners to learn, not just for tuning, general maintenance, repairs and keeping it legal.

This. If you get caught out hunting and the sky opens up and all the water falls out, you need to strip that gun down to clean and rebuild it. Even if that doesn’t happen, imo it needs a regular (6-12 month) strip down, check and relube.
I have a lightning here in desperate need of a strip and clean. How hard can it be?
