    I would agree regard double the depth and thickness but the front geometry completely different as is the rear section.
    The 1911 is also raduised in its profile over the barrel housing. Only the grip has any semblance of 1911.
    I always found it a bulking contrivance. Top heavy in both appearance and handling for it.
