And therein lies the problem. Take a bit of a gamble on a new gun that may well have a few unresolved issues (like, potentially the breech bolt design) and unproven trigger and overall track record, or go for a known high-quality, precision engineered rifle that has finesse and will withstand a nuclear blast, will last many lifetimes and just keep on delivering efficiently and with guaranteed precision. Arguably the best springer trigger on the planet, superb barrel and will always find a new home easily on the pre-owned market at a good percentage of its new price.

I don't always buy guns because they are the best, I buy them because I like them. I've just bought a new 35e nickel and really like it but the new lighting is different to anything I have and I've ordered it on looks alone basically! Any mechacal short comings will be addressed and brought up to a standard I am happy with, same as with the 35e. Just keeps me interested really.
Plinkerer and Tinkerer
Popped into my RFD to view one yesterday morning. It was very nice and if it hadn't been for the fact I've already had a very expensive month due to thermal & additional NV purchases I probably would have bought.
Personally I really like the style of the stock, the unvarnished finish looks ripe for absorbing some walnut oil, with a little tlc it could be a beauty.
It shouldered really nicely and initial thoughs were it felt very similar to hold as my HW100KS and it didnt feel heavy in the shoulder.
The quality of the blueing was good, maybe not quite as deep and shiny as the Weihrauchs but certainly good, and to be fair this gun was unpacked straight out of the box a wipe over with a little gun oil would probably further improve things.
I'm not that clued up about the finer points of the engineering of springers, but everything felt exactly as it should there was no gritty feeling when breaking the action, the trigger felt very nice when dry pulled, and I noticed the breech bolt was designed to be tightened if necessary. Unfortunately for me (but not for the rfd), the shop got so busy people were queueing out the door, so I decided to make some space and give the purchase further thought.
So my initail impressions were very good, i'm still tempted to buy as it felt very different to my other springers (Cometa Fusion & a 99s) but admittedly the main attraction for me is the fact its a Birmingham made break barrel.... and I don't currently own a .22 springer.
What are you all wanting to know?
I have one here, in .22
