Is it possible to date a Webley Osprey from the serial number? I am not having a lot of luck online.

I just wondered if there were any resources I could check myself. I've never been one for publizising the serial numbers of my guns on public forums.

Unfortunately most of the published lists are parts of recent books, so for copyright reasons you won’t/shouldn’t find scans of those online. Troubledshooter has access to more s/n information than most the books contain, so if you politely pm him yours he may be nice and message you back a date (if it’s on his lists).
