Aesthetically the .22 IMO looks just the ticket it’s proportions look bang on and the one I handled fits me superb

Think I would need a good session with one first before I bought one, Neil.

It’s the trigger that seems the most confusing aspect with reviews/videos +/- comments etc

One day the stars may align for an overdue bash visit

As per comments on the other thread, Nick, unfortunately I have to say that's the correct conclusion.

This has been so frustrating from BSA for so many years. And how many chances do they need to get it right? Especially when there are competitor rifles that have been out there for so long?

Your observations align with mine....they DO handle beautifully. I think SuoerSports and Lightnings always have. Very "field / sporting" pointable friendly and light. But what has to be more important than that is what happens upon squeezing the trigger and initiating the fitting cycle.....all aided and abetted and won and lost by a good / bad trigger and forgiving firing cycle. It seems the quality isn't there. The trigger seemingly falls short. And you mention the first thing I noticed - the bluing is pants and reminiscent of a cheap, budget rifle.

The overall looks are lovely. Those walnut stocks are beautiful (the one on Neil's is particularly striking). The handling is lovely. But surely there must be enough passion amongst the designers and engineers at BSA to overcome the wishes of the bean counters to try and deliver an action of the quality that this great brand truly deserves? Executed properly BSA could have a world beater.
