Way back in the 90’s I had Mr Pope sort my LB and it’s with rose tinted glasses I look back at what I had and how it shot, quite stupidly I sold it to a mate who still has it.
I did buy a LBse years later and that was a mix of Brum and Turk bits and just failed to rekindle the Webley thing, although earlier this year I did get an Omega which shot lovely but weighty so it got moved on
If it ain’t broke, fix it till it is

    Longbow

Topdog RIP my friend loved the longbow and so decided to longstroke it by 6mm with along with Mr Pope it makes the longbow shoot how it was meant to. 8mm extra stroke will work but the safety will not engage. Mach 1.5

Trying to think of something I've never seen on a production springer before but seems it's all be done, barrel latch, match trigger, recoiless action, walnut stock, Super tuned action etc etc..so why do us shooters sometimes think the next new springer is going to be the next best thing!!
Because a 25mm HW95 would be the ultimate break barrel sporting springer.

    The chinese already did it

Would you say the longbow was the best Webley ever made Paul?

I’ve never owned the Omega but do have a soft spot for the stingray and some of those venom jobs looked gorgeous

Yeah, I just shot my 87-88 vintage 85.
The only change I've done on the gun is change the old steel guide for a fitted synthetic guide on a modern Hw95 steel flange, and it behaves VERY well.
It just does not like JSB pellets like most more recent HW's.

Longbow, Tommy, Omega. And if Webley had listened to Mr Hancock and Mr Pope maybe they could have produced the best production springer out there. The design was a cylinder bigger than the Longbow but smaller than the Tommy but Webley know best!!! Mach 1.5

    A goldilox springer!

It's a shame that there isn't a break barrel available that is made to the same standard as a tx200, ie piston bearings, quality blueing and walnut stocks etc. I guess it would be a limited market though

I think that's all we are asking for, the LGV came very close but went a bit over the top with all the anti rattle cocking smoothness thing, which is superb to have, but probably added to the production costs, if only Air Arms got on a made a new one, it could sit in a S400 style stock, even a thumbhole version, that would be something else but the cost of their current offerings have sky rocketed, so I can't imagine what it would cost.

They did 20 odd years ago, unfortunately it wasn’t built for our sub 12 fp market.
It was too heavy too big too expensive and didn’t perform good enough at our legal limit.
AA give us the Tx and Pro/sport both great guns , but aren’t interested in doing another Break barrel.
More interested in developing the fugley twin tank pcp and the Galahad munter pcp, both failed miserably.
Old fuss pots like me don’t matter anymore 😩..
