Gotcha. So, with the cocking arm disconnected, you should be able to fit the barrel in the "open position" and then close it and re-fit the cocking arm after inserting the bolt? Hope this works for you.

That worked a treat, the HW70 is a VERY simple pistol thankfully. The strip & re-lube has seen the power double from 1 ft/lb to 2 Just enough for cans at 6 meters.

Looks like the only way to get a Weihrauch piston seal is to buy the later type piston The only other way is to machine off the seal mounting thingy & drill & tap it to take one of the 25mm leather seal conversion kits, but it'd need a lathe for that, I wouldn't trust myself to be central enough with a drill.

To say the spring has masses of preload & is a bugger to get in, it's very easy to cock A bit of lathing in that area could allow the fitment of a chunkier Welsh Willy spring. That & a new seal could be a nice improvement.

Excellent stuff, Paul. Glad it worked.

Piston / seal / spring mods can come later. Just enjoy for now.

As you say, maybe a newer piston and a slightly stiffer spring next time?

Had the injection in my right eye yesterday. Usually vision is blurry for the rest of the day and it starts to sting around late evening. Well, yesterday, after about an hour it was killing. Looking VERY red and running like mad. Very blurry later on still.

This morning much of the pain has subsided. It feels a bit "gravelly", but not too bad. But vision very blurry still. If I was at work today I wouldn't be able to drive.

Hoping this improves over the coming few hours.

I have a transport situation problem at the mo but Im hoping it will be resolved before the 19th, if it is I will be be bringing some items for sale, My HW 35, my Relums and a wooden cased Bam, though the case handle has disintegrated.
