    HW35 .177 pellet choices.....

Not going to apologise, I know pellet choice is totally devisive

HW35, newest version, .177, TbT guide, top hat and spring, set up with JSB Exact 8.44gr 4.53 because that's all I had in my box (pellet of choice for my TX after extensive testing)

Got a few different pellets to try in the 35 just to be sure (and got a 77 to do the same with)

    H&N Baracuda 8.44gr 4.51 and RWS Superdome 8.44gr 4.51

Out to 40yds rested all three types will create raggedy but touching groups, zeroed with the JSB at 35yds the Superdome keep the same POI, the H&N hit high

Haven't tried the Chrono, I know it was just on 10.8 with JSB

H&N, stated 4.51 are the tightest fit in the breech, and throughout today's fairly brief trial were the one that I seemed to go back to

Anyone done anything more scientific with an HW35 and settled with one pellet?
Springers (mostly), long, short, in the best calibre and the other calibre too

Some old, some new, all guaranteed to make me smile

Most Weihrauch barrels don't seem that sensitive and can deliver fine accuracy with a wide variety of pellets. Every barrel / pellet match can differ, though.

I'm sure your 35 will deliver pleasing results with the pellets you mention. In my experience with my .177 HWs, I'd be looking at the H&N Field Target Trophy, Baracuda 8, Baracuda FT, RWS Hobby and the JSB Exacts. But plenty more pellets will, no doubt, perform admirably.

I also got a new 35, earlier this year, had mine tuned for bell target, reduced to 26mm & titanium internals by Paul Short, however before the tune it was spot on with Barracuda 8's, after the tune it was still spot on with them, i tried resizing them out of interest, but it prefers them straight out of the tin. Might try weighing a few(sad i know) & see if that makes a difference

My new 35 does well with Falcon Accuracy Plus. Nice shot cycle with these top.

I imagine that shots very nicely, Rob.

Do we think these are still the same pellet as the JSB Exact RS, Max? From Jim's scribblings in the past, known for their comparatively low start pressure and good in many springers. The Express should be pretty good, too?

Hi Tony, yes they are "the same" but as usual the two pellets shoot differently in the same rifles. My 35 prefers the FAP.

Obviously I have never had a 35 but I have not met an HW .177 that didn't work well with JSB exact 4.52
