    Shedtype

HW80 24mm (a bit heavy for me right now, but it only comes out every few years).

and a pistol or two... still deciding there...

Did a quick service on the new-to-me HW35 this morning, swapping the nicely-converted-leather-to-synthetic-piston to a factory synthetic version - taking the weight down from 296g to 260g, and adding a few mm of stroke.

Normally I'd expect some power increase with the extra stroke, but the reason I stripped it was that it was a little smokey.. sure enough, the seal was a fraction loose, and there was quite a bit of oil in front of the piston seal. So a new seal went on the new piston, and the net effect was the combustion stopped, and the power stayed exactly the same at 10 fp. Firing cycle was a little calmer too, so will let it settle at the bash and see how accuracy is. Same spring, so same moderate cocking effort.

Really getting in the mood for the bash now... might even make it for friday evening if the weather is fine
Sounding good, Jon, but don't you be overdoing things and knackering yourself up.

Will the TX spring & guides be ready for the bash ?

Looks like the pellets I ordered last Monday from Redback haven't even been posted yet I would have got them from Ramsbottoms but they didn't have what I wanted in stock.
    Poor show from Redbeck.

Guessing spring and guides won't be in in time, Paul.

Shame about the spring & guides Tony.

Redbecks site needs sorting, after I contacted them they sent me a tracking number & it either got delivered to work this morning or will be there Monday morning. Too late for the range tomorrow (if I have the time) for a bit of testing, but in time for the bash.

Hoping to bring HWs 35, 80 & 100 if they are working OK, maybe a Beeza & some pistols for can bashing. & Defo the mighty Relum

Nice that Redbeck are putting this right for you, Paul. Any dealings I've ever had with them have been good. Shame you won't have them for the hoped for range visit, though.

Nay problem re the spring & guides for the 35. The little 50 and Diana will be coming along and this particular naughty 35 can come with me in July. If I get the chance I'll take the spring out this evening after work and see if it's of 3.1mm wire or chunkier, which will dictate whether it's going to have a TX or 97 spring. Fitting the new latch spring didn't solve the vertical play, either. So I will have to look at that profile on the cylinder and try and alter the latch to match.

Hopefully your naughty ones will all be behaving and you'll be able to bring them all along.

That lovely Diana of Hellequin Paul's is doing my head in. I'd love to be able to buy that. Dosh and space issues dictate otherwise.

As per ramblings on the '35 fettling thread, Jon, there seems to be a bit of confusion over the sizing of Tinners' '35 springs. I'd never measured it as I'd assumed they were all 3.1mm, as per the details he supplied for evert's thread. But, thinking about it, it might be of wider diameter wire. As per above, hoping to whip the spring out later and measure up.

Your expertise is always welcomed and appreciated.

Specs as supplied by Tinners. I'd assumed the "magnum" ones were for FAC use, but I wonder if it's these that are supplied in 35/80 kits? As said, hoping to whip it out later.....

Back home from our jollies. Re proofed the tent yesterday, but looking at the weather, hopefully not needed

I'll be hobbling round the field this time, had that bloody Plantar fasciitis for the last six weeks or so. Uncomfortable and then some

I hope you had a lovely time, Dave, and I bet Moosey boy was very excited to have you home.

Yep, the weather's looking excellent for the weekend so far.

Sorry to hear about your pain. If you need any help with anything over the weekend, just shout up. Hope it eases for you.

According to the vid on the TBT website the magnum springs are now what they supply for the heavier pistoned rifles, ie the HW80 and HW35. The longer length ones are FAC, it's your super efficient O ring thats putting your 35 over more than likely Tony. Nick mentions new spring sizes about 2.00 minutes in

The pellets were already in the post, just their site said they weren't even dispatched Maybe it's set up for phones ? I don't internet on my phone, texting is about the most I can manage on the damn thing

It'll be nice to see that 50, is the Diana a .22 or .177 ? I had a look an MN products site yesterday & they only have .22, I'd have been tempted to swing by on the way to the bash if they'd had a .177 one.

Hopefully the rifles that have had recent work will be going for a trip over to the range this afternoon, and it's fingers crossed there will be a spare lane, it gets very full when the weather is nice.

I know what you mean about Pauls Diana, the only thing stopping me getting it is that I can't really justify another .22 break barrel.
